So, this experience actually occurred in the spring, but we’ve been pretty busy, and have not had the chance to write about it until now. I (James) am writing this experience because typically these stories come from the parents, but I think it is interesting to have someone else’s experience (in this case, as the coworker/uncle). So here it is… from my perspective…
It started out when Kyle and I had the task of running the office for a week while Josh was off playing the “my wife is having a baby at any moment” card. Despite our scattered selves, we did a good job, and kept everything afloat. Then we got the call saying “it’s happening tonight!”, but the question was….when? I arrived at the hospital later that evening with my mother-in-law (Liz and my wife were already there) and set up camp in the waiting room. A few hours went by of playing the waiting game. Kyle showed up a little while later, and after playing iPhone games to pass the time, Josh finally walked out of the delivery area looking all composed and proud as a new dad (when really he was scared out of his mind… check out his face in the image below!)

So after hours upon hours upon hours of waiting (Ok, it wasn’t as bad as I’m making it sound) we finally got to see this new little addition to the Baker (and humid) family. His name is Elliott Kristoff Baker and after just five and half short months, we already have him programming in wordpress and making films about dinosaurs!

This experience was definitely one for the books, as most births in the family are. Josh probably had the best experience out of this one, but we were right there to enjoy it with him (waiting…playing games….eating donuts….it was rough) Come on! Like Josh had a hard time! Amy is the one who did most of the work. Congratulations again to Amy and Josh for providing such a great piece of entertainment, and our new studio mascot.

Congrats again a new birth is an amazing milestone that you will never forget. Hope all is well.
