“Tough Love”, by Chad
You ever rest on your laurels and think “it will never happen to me”? You just cruise through life thinking and believing you are invincible, you know that feeling? It is the feeling you get when you land that first 360 snowboarding, or you drop that rock drop mountain biking - you know the feeling I am talking about - then you start pushing your limits and landing bigger tricks and dropping bigger drops, all the while remaining invincible.
THEN, a nemesis sticks you in the back to claim your spot…..well on 10/26/08, my nemesis, a root named Charlie on a trail called Cedar Dust on Galbraith Mountain in Bellingham, WA - claimed my spot. Charlie stole my ego and shut me down, after allowing my wheels of ego to roll over him countless times over a 12 year span of time. Charlie buttered himself up extra slick for my rear wheel to slip just enough to kick my left foot out in front of my pedal and connect on another rock and…well the pics tell the rest of the story
